The Popsicle Project

After nearly 30 years of teaching Kindergarten through 2nd grade, Sharon Sager, founder of “The Popsicle Project,” has seen a wide range of life events that can emotionally impact students and derail their learning momentum. The power of the learning curve is sensitive to all forms of disruption, such as being forced out of the classroom due to the current pandemic or a lockdown situation when there is a safety threat, as well as the emotional distraction when a student body experiences a tragedy, such as the loss of someone in the school community.

After a series of school lockdown situations in 2019, this wise teacher brought a little ray of sunshine to her 2nd grade student body with a simple gesture of popsicles to brighten their day as these jittery students, and teachers alike, returned to school. Using resources to create the greatest impact is a strategic focus for the Labor of Love, making this brilliant idea a perfect match!

Once schools are able to return to a more normal level of socialization, “The Popsicle Project” will be available where a class or grade has been impacted by a tragedy, such as a loss of a teacher, a security threat of some kind, or any situation that leaves the academics and emotional needs at risk as children struggle with returning to normalcy. We look forward to providing both popsicles and smiles to those students in our local communities who are in need of a simple gesture to brighten their day and to help bring their academic home back to gravity center.

Please enquire to the Labor of Love for interest in either serving or a school request for The Popsicle Project. For more background information, please refer to www.thepopsicleproject.com.
