The English Cup Project

Strong English skills are critical in participating in the global, increasingly virtual economy. With a passion for leadership in a multicultural environment, Paulina Canez, the founder of “The English Cup Project” is developing a platform to share the advanced English skills in her circle with their local Spanish-speaking communities, particularly during the current challenging times of quarantine. The English Cup Project will be using regular opportunities to connect through a video-based, online platform, allowing participants to share a “virtual cup of coffee, ” as well as face-to-face meetings in the future, to engage in both business and social conversations in English, share and comments on books, movies, and news in English. Confidence is key in mastering a foreign language and having this opportunity to speak and listen in English regularly is an ideal way to have a meaningful impact in a local community using the time and talent of our multilingual friends of Labor of Love. The end-game is to elevate the English skills in our local communities, so that participants can improve their career development opportunities.

This project is launching test pilot groups now and will be available more broadly in January, 2021 as we assess the level of interest and refine the process. For enquiries, please contact the Labor of Love regarding The English Cup Project.
