With the intentions of intelligent hearts and compassionate minds, our project-based portfolio has launched “The Magnolia Project” and “The Blankie Project;” we are currently developing “The Popsicle Project” and “The English Cup Project.” Please refer to the project tabs for more information.
The Magnolia Project
The Magnolia Project is a tried and true platform started in 2013 by our Board Member, Elizabeth Kimball. The three-pronged strategy of The Magnolia Project includes: serving families in life crisis, creating volunteer opportunities for families in life crisis, and facilitating mentoring relationships among high school and junior high youth.
The Blankie Project
Our most recent endeavor, “The Blankie Project,” gathered volunteers to create handmade blankets for a children’s oncology ward at the Children’s Hospital of Tijuana. The volunteers that were able to deliver the blankets and meet the children and their families were the ones that received the greatest gift; we each left that day with a special child or parent on our heart from our interactions as we gifted them the blankets.
The Popsicle Project
After nearly 30 years of teaching Kindergarten through 2nd grade, Sharon Sager, founder of “The Popsicle Project,” has seen a wide range of life events that can emotionally impact students and derail their learning momentum. The power of the learning curve is sensitive to all forms of disruption, such as being forced out of the classroom due to the current pandemic or a lockdown situation when there is a safety threat, as well as the emotional distraction when a student body experiences a tragedy, such as the loss of someone in the school community.
The English Cup Project
Strong English skills are critical in participating in the global, increasingly virtual economy. With a passion for leadership in a multicultural environment, Paulina Canez, the founder of “The English Cup Project” is developing a platform to share the advanced English skills in her circle with their local Spanish-speaking communities, particularly during the current challenging times of quarantine.
The May Day Project
Celebrate May Day with Labor of Love
It’s been a long year for all of us, especially for our seniors, many of whom have been isolated from friends and family. We invite you to make a seniors’ day, or someone in your world who is in need of a little love, to celebrate brighter days ahead with a May Day Basket!
